RELATIONSHIP AND FAMILY COUNSELLING
What is Counselling
It is a process by which a counsellor assists a client to face, understand and accept information about himself and his interaction with others so that he can
make effective decisions about various life choices.
Counselling is therefore:
- A process
- A relationship
- A help given to people in making choices
- A face-to-face interaction
- A learning experience
Counselling is help and support that can be offered to all persons regardless of their belief system, religious affiliation or nationality.
What is Pastoral or Christian Counselling?
As a Christian counsellor I use a hybrid or mixture of the Holy Spirit direction, the word of God, modern psychology and ethics, and, through interaction with the counselee, help him or her to make informed choices or make right decisions in life.
Who needs counselling?
Husbands, wives, church leaders and ministers. Everyone involved in a relationship with a fellow human being and experiencing significant challenges and difficulties. It is no shame to seek help for your family and marriage. Seeking help is a proof of your love and commitment for the marriage and family. It will cost you more in money, emotional and psychological problems and reputation if you take ‘do nothing approach’.
